The mission of the Boys and Girls Club of Douglas is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Boys & Girls Club of Douglas (BGCD) has 3 Priority Outcomes
1) Academic Success
2) Good Character and Citizenship
3) Healthy Lifestyles
Throughout its history, the Boys and Girls Club has focused on meeting the needs of children as they grow to young adults. The Club helps them to help themselves, to realize their full potential for the development and improvement, and to become responsible citizens with the skills necessary for living.
Chief Executive Officer: Michele Carter
Unit Director: Alison Villalobos
Alison comes from Nebraska, where she completed her Undergraduate Degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney in K-12 ESL and 7-12 Social Studies, along with a Minor in Art. She worked as a K-5 ESL teacher in Rawlins Wyoming before moving to Douglas to be with her husband, Layton.
She has also worked at Casper College as an Adult Education Teacher helping individuals obtain their High School Equivalency Degree and at Douglas Middle School as a 6th Grade World Studies teacher. During her professional teaching career she obtained a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in K-12 Literacy from the University of Wyoming. Coming to the Boys and Girls Club of Douglas has afforded her the opportunity to work with kids who she feels need her more. Her passion comes with working with at-risk youth and the flexibility offered with the Boys and Girls Club allows her to focus her efforts on bettering the lives of those youth in Douglas. Working at the Club feels more like a calling to her than anything else and she enjoys bringing variety to the programming for our youth.
She lives at home with her husband and their Shih Tzu, Mitzi. When she’s not at work you can find her at home making crafts, crocheting, creating paintings or drawings, or on the golf course.
